He was the son of the late William Remy and Ida Johnson Kerr and was also preceded in death by his wife, Euna Stacey Kerr, and two brothers, William Remy Kerr Jr. and George Edward Kerr.

Mr. Kerr was owner and operator of Kerr Music since 1940. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Union Church.

Funeral services for Fred Alton Kerr, 89, were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.

Committal services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003 in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
