Mrs. Daphine Guthrie, 73, of Adel, Georgia passed away October 11, 2014 at Cook Medical Center. Mrs. Guthrie was born in Cook County to the late George Dewey Tyson and Pearl Mae Moore Tyson. She attended the Antioch United Methodist Church and was retired from the Cook County Board of Education where she was the Assistant Cafeteria Manager for Cook High School.

Mrs. Guthrie is survived by her husband, Mr. Johnny Guthrie of Adel; son and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Becky Guthrie of Adel; three daughters and sons-in-law: Janet and Lance Godwin of Adel, Denise and Greg Keigans of Norman Park, Georgia, Patricia and Steve Brown of Adel; one brother and sister-in-law, Ellis and Linda Tyson of Crossville, Tennessee; 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Melba Bradford and Marie Tyson.

Visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 South Hutchinson Ave., Adel, Georgia.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday October 14, 2014 at the Antioch United Methodist Church with Rev. Christie Bandy and Rev. Jason Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Church Cemetery. Steve Meders will sing "The Anchor Holds" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain;" Mrs. Johnnie Lou Elenberg will play the piano; special selections to be played at the service will be: "Nobody Answered When I Called Your Name," "Holes in the Floor of Heaven," and "Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It." Aaron Guthrie, Chase Keigans, Joe Lance Godwin, Jamie Godwin, Josh Guthrie, Jason Godwin, J.R. Shivers, Justin Shivers, and Tyler Shivers will serve as active pallbearers; Mrs. Guthrie's fellow co-workers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
