Nancy Jane Wilkins,78, of Findlay, passed away at 2:18am Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Blanchard Valley Hospice Center after a five year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on July 2, 1936 in Joliet, Ill, to James R. and Isabelle (Lucas) Martin, both deceased. She married James A. Wilkins in November 1955, and he survives. She has three sons: Douglas A. (Sheri), Toledo; David S. (Michelle) of Spring, Tex. and James R. (engaged Laurie), Findlay. Five grandchildren include Stacey Fineberg, Chicago, Laurie, Hudson, Ohio plus Danielle, Lucas and Juliana, all of Spring, Texas. Two grandchildren by pending marriage are Lindsay and Tyler George of Findlay. Her first great grandchild is expected in April. Her brother, Robert D. Martin of Amelia Island, FL also survives. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William R. Martin. Besides raising her family, Nancy's major accomplishments in life include the following: She founded and is president of Color Dynamics, a company serving customers in cosmetics, skin care and color analysis. She was active with First Presbyterian Church (FPC) in Findlay, serving five three-year terms on the governing Board of Elders and one three-year term on the Board of Deacons. She also chaired and served on many committees throughout her 50-plus years of membership and wrote 19 psycho-drama plays known as the Bickersomes - all part of the Adult Education Program at FPC. She sang in the church choir for more than 30 years. In the Findlay community for over 54 years, she served as President of Welcome Wagon and on the Board of Directors of Associated Charities. She also was President of her chapter of Women's National Farm and Garden. Nancy was an accomplished actress, appearing in six productions at Fort Findlay Playhouse. She was also a competitive tennis player, a talented gardener and a landscaper whose home three times was included on the Findlay garden tour. She was a skilled home decorator and an accomplished bridge player. A memorial service celebrating her life will be at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 3 at 11:00am with Pastor Cynthia Holder Rich officiating. (The actual service will begin five minutes late in loving remembrance of her penchant for tardiness to most events.) Visitation will be held at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Friday, January 2. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church.
