'EAST PEORIA - Dorothy L. Clatt, 96, of East Peoria passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019, at Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.

She was born on September 16, 1922, in Galesburg to Ralph C. and Mabel C. Cool Dixon. She married Corwin S. Clatt on September 1, 1944, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1997.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Dale and Richard Dixon; and five sisters, Evelyn Moore, Merle Edoff, Delores Goddard, Betty Yates, and Rose Marie Kremer.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Christine of East Peoria; her son, Barry of Washington, D.C.; sisters-in-law, Gwen Dixon, and Elsie Clatt; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was employed at Caterpillar and at East Peoria School District 86. She was a 59-year member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and assisted in the establishment of the church library.

Dorothy enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home on many occasions, including holidays, celebrations and informal get-togethers. She further enjoyed socializing and going on outings with friends.

Dorothy's family would like to thank the entire staff at Apostolic Christian Skylines for the excellent care Dorothy received during her stay there.

A private graveside service will be held at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Apostolic Christian Skylines.
