Helen Chambers, age 94, formerly of Abilene passed away on January 31, 2019 at Mitchell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Colorado City, Texas. Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Colorado City, Texas on February 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Jerry Shields officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Private burial will follow in Abilene at a later date. Born April 27, 1924 in Fisher County, she grew up in Snyder, Texas.

She graduated from Snyder High School in 1941. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Colorado City. She was the daughter of Mal and Clemey Andress. She married Robert Chambers on December 27, 1940 and they enjoyed 65 years together.

Survivors are two sons: Richard Chambers with wife Linda of Weatherford, Texas and Randy Chambers with wife Connie of Colorado City, Texas. Three daughters: Joann Jameson of Colorado City, Texas; Elynn Kelly with husband Richard of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Brenda Johannesen with husband Patrick of Burleson, Texas, and daughter-in-law Anne Fladd of Roswell, N.M..

She was preceded in death by one son, David Chambers of Roswell, New Mexico. She had 26 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 30 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 2006, two brothers Leon and Marvin Andress; grandsons Robbie Smith and Cody Kelly; and great-granddaughter Chelsea Womack, and great-great-granddaughters, Alexa Aigner and Lillian Shearer; and great-great-grandson Braxton Shearer.
