Sarah Dawson, 90 of Paris, MO, passed away on Thursday morning, January 1, 2015 at Ravenwood Nursing Home in Moberly, MO.
Sarah was born on June 28, 1924 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of James and Mamie Duckwall McNutt. She married Clarence "Boyd" Dawson on April 2, 1953, at the Presbyterian Church in Paris, MO. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2006. She is survived by nieces and nephews; Jenifer (Michael) Malson, Belita Gordon, Susan (Bob) Thomas, Charlie (Kate) Gordon and Ann (Richard) Warren; Great-nieces and nephews; Esther (Steve) Edgren, Blake (Terri) Robertson, Kelly (Tripp) O'Connor, Alex Thomas and Spencer (Nicole) Thomas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and James McNutt and a sister Luanna.
Sarah taught in the Paris R-II School District and retired from the Madison C-3 School District after 30 years of teaching.
She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, P.E.O. and an active member of the Paris Senior Citizen Center. She was a past member of the Paris Presbyterian Church and a member of the Maple Grove Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Agnew Funeral Home with Reverend Tresia Griffith officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Paris Senior Citizen Center.
