A member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Abbottstown, he had been until his retirement a chauffeur for 25 years at Revonah Spinning Mills, Hanover.
Born in McSherrystown, he was a son of the late John and Margaret Small Groft.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons and a daughter, Daniel and Mrs. Kenneth Hartlaub, both of Hanover; Mrs. Nancy West, Spring Grove; Mrs. Cecil Artrip, with whom he lived; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Leon Staub, Hanover.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning with meeting at 9:30 a.m. at the Panebaker Funeral Home, Hanover to go to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hanover. His pastor, Rev. John Campion, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
