Died Tuesday morning, July 8, 2008 at Borgess Medical Center, Gull Road, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Lester was born on July 17, 1924 in Ronneby, Minnesota the son of the late Corodon and Nellie (Reed) Lumbard. Lester was a partner of Lumbard Brothers Construction Company. He was a devoted family man and loved the outdoors. Lester was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, Russell, William, Myrle and Daile Lumbard. He is survived by his wife, Elnora "Ine" (Holroyd) Lumbard to whom he married on August 17, 1945; five children, Ione (Jane) Lumbard of Buena Vista, CO, Laura (David) Ozanich of Lansing, MI, Althea (Dave) Grooten of Parchment, MI, Karen Simmons of Parchment, MI and Lester (Judy) Lumbard, Jr. of Richland; 13 Grandchildren, Hannah (Brad) Shaw, Benjamin (Jessica) Lumbard; Justin Ozanich, Leslie Ozanich, Dave (Lisa) Grooten II, Kenneth (Angela) Grooten, Althea Simmons, Billie Simmons-Cruise (Joe), Nate Simmons, Noelle (Christopher) Grulke, Justine Lumbard, Austin Lumbard and Trevor Lumbard; nine great grandchildren, Courtney Shaw, Ty Shaw, David Grooton III, Gabrielle Grooten, Chandler Grooten, Sawyer Grooten and Parker Grooten, Gavin Cruise and Trent Cruise, four siblings, Clarence (Delores) Lumbard, Juanita (Fred) Shank, Ralph (Jean) Lumbard and Lyle (Donna) Lumbard and numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Spring Valley Wesleyan Church, 5240 Mt. Olivet Road. Pastor Ken Dykoff officiating. Interment of cremains will be in East Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Valley Wesleyan Church. Arrangements by
