Harold James Goff, Sr. passed away on December 17, 2014 in Yacolt, Washington. Harold was born on February 21, 1924 in Yakima, Washington to parents Marvin and Beatrice Goff. He was the third of seven children.

His family moved to Battle Ground, Washington in 1941. Harold graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1942. He was drafted into the US Army in November of 1943 during World War II where he served in France and the occupation of Japan. Upon returning home to Yacolt, Washington in 1946 after being Honorably Discharged, he met the love of his life, Gladys Brigner, and they were married on June 7, 1947.

He relisted in the US Army when jobs became scarce in December of 1947. He served in the US Army from 1947-1965 going where needed: Alaska, California, Germany, Korea, Okinawa, Philippines, Colorado, and the Virginia's. Upon retiring from the US Army as First Sargent and returning to the family farm in Yacolt, Washington, he worked at Ballint's Auto repair, Orchards Feed Mill, and then drove school bus for the Battle Ground School District in Battle Ground, Washington from 1975-1986. Harold had a large impact on many of the kids' lives that rode his bus and he held the students in high regard. Harold officially retired in June 1986 to enjoy the family farm.

In the 67 years that Harold and Gladys were happily married and traveled the world, they were blessed with eight sons. Harold had a love of horses, dogs, western movies, western novels and Cadillac's. Harold had a love of telling stories and had a great smile and laugh. Harold will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys, sons: Harold James Jr. (Kathy), David (Karen), Clifford (Teri), Gerald (Val), Gary (Malea), Clarence (Renee), Morry (Kris), 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall, 33209 NE Lewisville Hwy, Battle Ground, Washington 98604, followed by a graveside service at Mt. View Cemetery also in Battle Ground, Washington, then followed by a potluck at Mt. Valley Grange in Amboy, Washington.
