Walter L. Ryno
Walter L. Ryno of Waco, a retired U.S. Postal Service worker, died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 78. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Donald Olson officiating.
Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Mr. Ryno was born April 17, 1916, in Limestone County. He attended Coolidge High School and graduated in 1934. He married Bertha Boort on Nov. 11, 1939, in Coolidge. He served in the Army during
World War II. He worked as a farmer before serving in the military and returned to the Central Texas area in October 1945. He worked in the grocery business for about 20 years. He most recently worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1981. Mr. Ryno was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Hales of Conroe; a son Jim Ryno of Marble Falls; four sisters,
Myrtle Lewis, Lois Lands and Lillian Fleming, all of West, and Beulah Hahn of Gatesville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 tonight at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church building fund.
