Geneva June Richards, 98, of Sturgeon passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at The Bluffs in Columbia.
Services will he held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Harrisburg Christian Church in Harrisburg. Officiating will be the Rev. John Gillman, pastor of Harrisburg Christian Church in Harrisburg. Interment will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, before the service.
She was born Oct. 16, 1916, the daughter of of William Clay Blakemore and Cory (Petty) Blakemore in Harrisburg.
On Sept. 24, 1935, she was married to Howard F. Richards in Fayette, and he preceded her in death July 19, 2000.
Mrs. Richards was a happy and content wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting and ice cream. In her early days she drove the ice truck and helped her dad deliver ice, also she was a rural mail carrier for several years.
She was a member of Sturgeon Christian Church following her membership at Harrisburg Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Richards of Clark and Randy Richards and wife Connie of Sturgeon; two daughters, Dulane Wohlman and husband Jack of Columbia and Kristie Musick and husband Doug of Drexel. Five grandchildren, Joe Lewis, Casey Kyle Utterback, Korrie Richards and companion Jessie, Dustin Richards and wife Stephanie, Shelbi Musick Ballage and husband Stephen; and five great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and one brother
Memorials are suggested to Harrisburg Christian Church Mount Horeb Cemetery Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
