Vernon Burns, Sr.

Services for Mr. Vernon Burns, Sr., of La Marque, TX will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 beginning with a Public Viewing at 12 Noon and continuing with A Life Remembered at 1:00 PM. Both services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Mr. Burns was a member of Bell Zion Church; a Prince Hall Mason; retired from TCR and a local Business Owner.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Adelaide Jewel Burns; his son, Carl Burns; his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by his daughters, La Wanna Goodwin (Lester, Sr.), Marilyn Johnson (David); a son, Vernon Burns, Jr.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Blair, Catherine Davis and Alois Phillips; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home. Funeral services have been personalized for the family by Dorthea Jones, Funeral Director, and the caring staff of Carnes Funeral Home.
