Wife of Jacob Hockensmith (1814-1861) with whom she had eight children. She was left a young widow with most of her children quite young at the time. A couple of the children did not reach adulthood. Rebecca died just four years after her husband. Her younger children were consequently left orphans. The younger children all ended up going to Ohio with relatives.
