MR. AND MRS. L. G. MULLEN, Life long residents of Brown County, thank their many friends and relatives for the lovely flowers, beautiful gifts, cards and their visits honoring their fiftieth wedding anniversary, celebrated December 30, 1956 with open house at their home.
Mr. Mullen, a retired rural letter carrier of thirty-five years of service, is the fourth member of his family to have celebrated a fiftieth wedding anniversary. The others are: Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ellis, a sister; Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Mullen, a brother; and Mrs. and Mrs, Ira Mullen, a brother.
Mrs. Mullen, the former Zelma Dunn, and Mr. Mullen were married by Rev. W. O. Cornetet at Mowrystown on December 31, 1906.
---------------------------------------------------
Leslie Guy Mullen was the eighth of ten children born to Flavious J. and Susan E. Mullen at Brownstown, Ohio, June 23, 1882. As he grew to manhood the surrounding woods and fields inspired a love of nature which remained with him all his life.

On December 31, 1906, he married Zelma I. Dunn. To this union were born six children: Ralph L., Doris, M. Clyde, Helen, Mabel and Beulah. Two sons and his wife preceded him in death. He died in Brown County General Hospital February 18, 1968.

He is survived by four daughters ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a brother, Ira S. of Columbus, numerous nieces and nephews, also a sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

At an early age he became a member of the United Brethren Church at Brownstown and the Masonic Lodge of Sardinia.

After trying several positions he sought work that would keep him out of doors and in 1917 joined the staff of the U. S. Post Office at Georgetown as a rural carrier. Here he remained more than thirty years and retired in 1951.

For a long time he was a member of the Georgetown First Presbyterian Church. However, in later years, moved his membership to the Methodist Church. He was a member of Georgetown Lodge #72 F.A.M., the Royal Arch Masons #52 and White Oak Chapter #193 O.E.S.

His life demonstrated his devotion to his family, his lodges and his church.
