Mr. Anderson was an Insulator for 53 plus years. He was a member of Local 24, International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Applied Workers in Laurel , MD, and owned A Quality Insulation in White Plains, MD. He was an active member of the Waldorf Moose Lodge in White Plains. He was also a member of the Nomini Boat Club. He was an avid slots player at Dover Downs. He loved NASCAR racing, boating and fishing, and every weekend at the Ponderosa.

He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Barbara L. Anderson; one son, Robert Anderson, Jr., two grandchildren, Craig Allen Anderson, Jr. and, Kandace Brooke Tompkins.

Mr. Anderson is survived by one son, Craig Anderson of La Plata, MD, three daughters, Tina (Dave) Tompkins of Hughesville, MD, Karen (Jim) Slattery of Hughesville, MD, and Dawn Anderson of White Plains, MD; one brother, Donald Anderson; and one sister, Joan Auth; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Robert, Cortney, Djay, Shayna, Ryan, Madison; and three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Marlee, and Landon. Also survived by his special friend Evora, and close friends: Janeen, Chopper, and Ray.

visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Moose Lodge Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD. Fr. Mark Smith will be clergy with pallbearers, Chopper Latimer, Robert Anderson, Dave Tompkins, Djay Tompkins, Jr., Jim Slattery, and Ray Burroughs. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Latimer, Bradley McDermott, and Landon Anderson. His internment will immediately follow his mass at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Roeder Rd., Suite 800, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
