Neil B. Bryant, 93, of Tenstrike, MN died January 1, 2015 at Meadowlands Elder Care in Tenstrike, MN.

Memorial services at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at United Methodist Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Gay Albers officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Full military honors provided by Blackduck American Legion Post 372. Burial will be in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck, MN. Cease Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Neil’s nieces and nephews. Urn bearers will be Katie, Molly and Abbey Hutchins.

He was born on April 3, 1921 in Tenstrike, MN to George and Pearl (Shaffer) Bryant. He attended school in Tenstrike and Blackduck, graduating in 1939. He also attended Bemidji State University. He enlisted in the Army of the United States in 1940 and served in Battery A, 389th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He earned the WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the American Defense Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Captain.

He began working for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in 1950 and retired from there in 1983. On Sept. 12, 1959, he married Beverly Floura in Hines, MN and together they had a daughter, Shelley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, walking, travel, watching sports and telling stories of early Tenstrike. He was a past member of the Tenstrike Presbyterian Church and the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers, and was a current member of the United Methodist Church in Bemidji.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bryant of Tenstrike, MN; his daughter, Shelley (Larry) Hutchins of Loretto, MN; 3 grand daughters, Katie, Molly, and Abbey Hutchins of Loretto, MN; 2 sisters-in-law, Ann Floura of Blackduck, MN and Eileen Floura of Bemidji, MN; and nieces and nephews, David Larsen, Kay Faust, Debra Ayers, Mary Noga, Pat Floura, Joan Charney, Jean Chambers and Tom Floura

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Pearl Bryant and four sisters, Vada Larsen, Lenore Bryant, Merle Bryant and Rozalia Landis; 2 brothers-in-law, Eugene and Wayne Floura; a nephew, Warren Floura; and a niece, Sandra (Floura) Freer.
