Mrs. Swilley was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Wisner, La., the daughter of Ed and Alice Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hill Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Swilley; a daughter, Lynnette Saunier; her parents; five brothers, Tom Martin, Willie Green, Clifford Martin, Ben Martin and Luke Martin; and three sisters, Cressie Lee Berry, Arrene Boone and Leta Freeman.
She is survived by two sons, Pete Swilley of Ferriday and Martin "Coot" Swilley and wife Ann of Ferriday; a daughter, Mary Ford and husband Gene of Monroe, La.; special son-in-law, Carl Saunier of Natchez; three brothers, Ralph Martin and wife Bea of Vidalia, Nub Martin and wife Ernestine of Ferriday, and Jimmy Ukle Martin and wife Hazel of Brownwood, Texas; four sisters, Geneva Tarver of Ferriday, Bessie Lincecum of Ferriday, Ruby Graves of Denham Springs, La., and Merle Dale and husband Leslie of Denham Springs, La.; seven grandchildren. Kenneth Swilley and wife Tana of Ferriday, Sandra Peoples and husband Glynn of Ferriday, Bo Swilley and wife Traci of Natchez, Barry Ford and wife Ellen of Dallas, Darren Ford of Monroe, La., Tam Corbett and husband Bill of Ferriday and Amy Book of Ferriday; 11 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Swilley, Bo Swilley, Glynn Peoples, Barry Ford, Darren Ford, Bill Corbett and Sonny Tarver.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Pierce, Edgar Jones, John Burnham, Daniel Peoples, Melton Martin, Wayne Tarver, Junior Tarver, Donald Ray Lincecum, Ronnie Martin, Jackie Martin, J.D. Martin, Wayne Dale, Carl Saunier and Gene Ford.
