Joan M. Donovan, 92, of Wrentham, died peacefully in her home on May 8, 2013 in the company of her loving children. She was the beloved widow of Daniel F. Donovan who predeceased her on Feb. 12, 2004.
Born in Westwood, on June 1, 1920, she was a dear daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Burdett) Shepherd. She was a graduate of the Dedham High School. Joan had once owned her own beauty shop.
An avid gardener, she also enjoyed her role as a mom and as a homemaker. Her family and her grandchildren meant everything to her. She was a talented artist and musician who loved to play piano, knit, crochet, and to hook rugs. She was a progressive individual who always kept an open heart and an inclusive mind. Many of those who knew her would often seek her counsel and benefit from her wisdom.
