Mrs. Anna Christina Marthea Madsen Olsen, 86, widow of Hans Peter Olsen, died at the family home after a lingering illness from causes incident to age.
Mrs. Olsen was born in Odense, Denmark, July 20, 1854, a daughter of Ferdinand and Crhistina Madsen. She was married to Mr. Olsen in Odense, July 16, 1876, and after becoming converts to the L. D. S. faith, emigrated to America in July 1886. They lived in Elsinore for three months and then came to Mt. Pleasant to make their permanent home. Mrs. Olsen was an active church worker, a Relief society teacher for many years and while younger, was identified with the Scandinavian choir. Mr. Olsen died July 26, 1927.
Surviving are three sons and six daughters, Ferdinand Olsen of Shelley, Idaho; Mrs. Emma O. Thompson of Los Angeles, Mrs. Laura O. Livesey, Mrs. Elvina O. Petersen and Carl Olsen of Salt Lake city; Mrs. Hansina O. Neeka of Chicago; Mrs. Ingeborg O. Moore of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Oscar Rjeike and Seymour Julius Olsen of Mt. Pleasant; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
