Pat was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1961. She was very proud to have received diplomas in both secretarial and stenographic disciplines, from LaSalle Extension University in Chicago. Pat began her working career at the age of 13 working alongside her father at the family business, known today as Eccles & Rader Accounting & Financial Services, and later became co-owner and operator with her husband and son.
Dance was a lifelong passion for Pat and she began tap dancing at a young age while her father played the piano. She was a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church and recent member of First United Church of Christ in Shelby where her son served as pastor. Serving others was a cornerstone for Pat and she was instrumental in developing the Grace Episcopal Food Pantry, which serves many local families. She was a member of the L.O.V.E. Group and Women's Guild at First United Church of Christ. She was involved with her son and his young friends as a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years.
Her main priority in life was raising her family and Pat was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed working with her hands especially knitting, crocheting, and cooking. Pat collected dolls, ceramic birds and plates, and many cookbooks. Many of her family's favorite dishes were served not only at family gatherings, but shared with her church family as well. She especially treasured the many memories made with family and friends. Her gracious, loving spirit extended to her poodles, Buffy and April, and they were spoiled with Pat's affection and attention.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Tiffany Rader of Mansfield and numerous extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with her son, Rev. Dr. Richard Leo Rader officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
