Patrick F. Conroy of Cadillac, Michigan, entered eternal life on Monday, December 29, 2014 at home. He was 93.
Pat was born May 16, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Myrtle Conroy and they preceded him in death. He married the former Arline M. Cischke on October 30, 1943 in Bennettsville, South Carolina and she preceded him in death on March 20, 1998.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, 17th Airborne, and had worked for the Internal Revenue Service for many years. Pat was an American Legion member for 67 years and was a current member of the American Legion Post #94 of Cadillac.
Pat is survived by his children: Michael R. Conroy of Tallahassee, Florida, Keith F. (Marci) Conroy of Traverse City and Kathy L. (Rick) Brookshire of Cadillac; a daughter in law, Gwen Conroy of Detroit; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son, Gary P. Conroy; a grandson, Gary P. Conroy, Jr. and siblings Shirley Conroy and Robert Conroy.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Peterson Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Helmboldt officiating and full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
