Laura J. Kelly, 62, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in Providence Hospital in Seattle. She was born in La Salle County, Ill., and moved to Missoula in the 1980s, where in 1997 she received a bachelor’s degree in social work from the the University of Montana following a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin. In 1999, she achieved a master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla College in Washington. Previously, she worked as a paralegal and then with elderly and at-risk populations.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Donal Kelly; and mother Asta W. Kelly, to both of whom she was a beloved and devoted daughter. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dermot Kelly; her niece, Katherine Koss; and nephew, Michael Funk.
