Nancy Pruitt Horner, 72, wife of the late Raymond K. Horner Sr., and a resident of Hallwood, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. Born on April 10, 1934 in Northside Chesconnessex, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Pruitt and Ona Dise Pruitt. Mrs. Horner was a homemaker, and a very active member of the Church of Christ in Temperanceville. She loved bowling and tennis, and enjoyed working in her yard. She is survived by four sons, Raymond Kerry Horner Jr. of Hallwood, Keith Matthew Horner and wife Donna of Captain's Cove, Greenbackville, Stephen Dale Horner of Wattsville, and Michael James Horner of Hallwood; four sisters, Sue Brown of Johnson's Wharf, Parksley, Norma Fletcher of Quinby, Violet Mears of Parksley, and Sydney Ann Davis of Salisbury, Md.; a brother, Brooks Pruitt of Northside Chesconnessex; five grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Nathan and Jennifer Horner, and Jessica H. Bozman; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Bozman and Megan E. Horner; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Eva Parks. Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Monday, April 24, at 2 p.m. with Minister R. Wayne Mathis officiating. Interment was in the John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Temperanceville. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ, P.O. Box 332, Temperanceville, VA 23442. Arrangements by the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home.
