Joan Barrette Keown, of Louisville, Ky., died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at W.G. Hardy-Valley Chapel, with burial in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Joan was born December 30, 1954, in Clinton, Iowa, to Francis and Dolores Barrette. She married Robert "Bubba" Keown on September 15, 1983, in Louisville. She was a 1973 graduate of Clinton High School and worked many years as a deli clerk with Meltons Food Mart on Flintlock Dr.
In addition to her husband, survivors included her mother, Dolores Barrette, Clinton; three sisters, Nancy Mariscal, of Sparks, Nev., Jill Pearson, of Clinton, and Jamie Dornbush, of Clinton; two brothers, Jerry Barrette and John (Mary) Barrette, both of Clinton, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Phyllis Chambers, and a brother, Steven Barrette.
