WOODS, JORDAN, 86, passed away at Baptist Hospital East, with his wife by his side.

Jordan was born and raised in Bluefield, WV and graduated high school as King of his class. He was a United States Naval World War II Veteran, serving three years in the Pacific Theatre, most notably, Guadalcanal and the Philippines.

Jordan graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL and he received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago where he was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jordan was the Personnel Director at Milprint in both Milwaukee, WI and San Francisco, CA and at Koehring Company in Milwaukee. He retired from Bay Shipbuilding Corp. in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

In 1987 he moved with his family to Louisville. He worked part-time for the U.S. Census Bureau for 14 years. He enjoyed golf, bridge, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jordan is survived by his wife of 38 years. Other survivors include a son, three daughters, six grandchildren, and many other friends and family members.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Watkins United Methodist Church, 9800 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40241. Jordan will be interred at Cave Hill Cemetery.
