Mary G. Martin, 96, formerly of Minersville, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Mary was born in Philadelphia, Jan. 5, 1918, a daughter of the late Joseph and Casimara Glinka Reho.
She was the widow of Charles F. Martin, who passed away in 1987.
She was a member of the former St. Stanisluas Kostka Roman Catholic Church, Minersville.
Mary was an avid reader and had a true affinity with numbers, of which she applied in earnest to the PA Lottery, and enjoyed winning. She was also a gifted prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline C. Nebroskie, Aug., 4, 2007; brothers, John, Thomas, Joseph Jr., Charles and William; sisters, Stella, Sophie, Josephine and Betty; a grandson, Joseph Smulley.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Linda Chapman, Minersville, Cynthia Borrell, Toms River, N.J., Cheryl Ponter, Primrose, Kelley Borrell, Minersville, the Rev. Dr. Krista M. Roehrig, Phoenix Park, Mary Jo Nebroskie, North Point, Fla., John Borell, Primrose, Randall Borrell, Harrisburg, Charles Borrell, Branchdale, and Joseph Nebroskie, North Carolina; 23 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.
A religious funeral service was held at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with her granddaughter, the Rev. Dr. Krista M. Roehrig, officiating. Friends were respectfully invited to attend a visitation until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Kostka No. 2 Cemetery. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, was entrusted with arrangements.
