John W. Sturdivant, Jr. passed away on December 29, 2014 at the Wilmington Hospital surrounded by his family

He was a dedicated husband, father and pop-pop. Jack worked as a plant superintendent for Airco Industrial Gases. He was a U.S. Marine Corp World War II veteran. Jack was an avid model train enthusiast and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he assisted in church maintenance. Jack was a fix-it person, if he couldn't fix-it no one could.

He was preceded by his wife of 74 years, Helen R. Sturdivant, his sister, Martha McAuley and his granddaughter, Beth Ann Sturdivant. Jack is survived by his children, Mary Ann Minguez (Tom), John Sturdivant (Jaime), Billy Sturdivant (Laura), his brother, William D. Sturdivant, his grandchildren, Roxann, Robin, Ronda, Rochelle, Billy and Matthew, his great-grandchildren, Heather, Chris, Emily, Kevin, Chad, Mya, Alexis, Zachary and Justin and his great-great-grandchildren, Caden and Penelope.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Road, Wilmington, DE 19810 and again on Saturday, January 3 form 9:30-10:15. A service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
