Benjamin Coy (Ben) Lane, 64, died Monday, December 29, 2014, at his home in Dudley.

Military graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, in the Dudley Cemetery with Dr. Toby Henson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clyde, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ben was born July 7, 1950 in San Antonio, to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Avo (Williamson) Lane.

He graduated from high school in Weleeka, Oklahoma, and served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam.

He married Jodie Booth in Abilene on August 31, 1977.

He was a truck driver and worked for several trucking companies.

Ben was a Christian with a strong belief in always doing what was right while teaching his family to do the same.

He was very proud to have served his country in the US Air Force.

He will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting and most of all his love for his family and friends.

Ben is survived by his wife Jodie Lane of Dudley; three daughters, Shonica Tatum and husband Mike of Abilene, Stephanie Smith and husband Jay of Clyde and Sheralyn Smoot of Dudley; one son, Benjamin Coy Lane, Jr. and wife Kelsie of Hawley; one sister, Connie Jo Mills and husband Mike of Oklahoma; one brother, Troy Lane of Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Dave Booth and wife LaWanda of Dudley; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one niece and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to their local VA.
