Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, and 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, at the church, prior to the time of the service.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, at Tipton First United Methodist Church in Tipton. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following funeral services. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa.
Melissa Ann Davis was born November 28, 1971, in Davenport, the daughter of Harold and Ferris (Nebergall) Davis Jr. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1990. She received her A. A. Degree from Kirkwood Community College in Early Childhood Development. She worked as a Childcare provider at Tipton's Tiger Club, worked along-side her mother in the Tipton School lunch program and provided in-home childcare. She married Scott Barber on July 2, 2005. She was a member of Tipton First United Methodist Church and the Tipton Library Book Club. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, listening to music and camping with friends.
She is survived by her husband, Scott of Tipton; her parents, Harold and Ferris Davis Jr., of Tipton; two sisters, Bernadette (Fred Fevold) Fulmer of Coralville, and Dawn L. Davis of Monticello; three nephews, Brandon Martin of Cedar Rapids, Justin Martin of Monticello and Sam Jordan-Allen of Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold B. and Betty J. Davis Sr., Elaine Nebergall and Jerald and Velma Nebergall.
