Lucille S. “Nannie” Stone, 79, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cox Funeral Home with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Lucille was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Amarillo to Herrick and Hazel Simon. Her mother passed at a young age, and Lucille was lovingly raised by her father and stepmother, Ruthie Simon. She was raised in on a farm between Amarillo and Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School. She then attended West Texas A&M University. Lucille married Norman Stone on Feb. 14 in the mid 1950s. He preceded her in death in 2000.

She was employed with Potter County Tax Office for more than 15 years, Gary Hedgecoke Motors for several years and finally for John Chandler Ford, where she worked for more than 29 years, retiring in 2005.

More than anything, Lucille was a caregiver to her entire family and anyone in need. She was considered an angel to all. Most of all, she was a proud Nannie to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herrick, Hazel and Ruthie Simon; a daughter, Donna Eason-Stone; and a brother, Billy Thompson; two sisters, Ramona Allen and Mary Ussery; and a great-grandson, James Rivers.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Stone and Saul Martinez of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Amber Sauls-Michie, Dustin Rhoades, Mason Martinez and Lela Hearn, all of Amarillo; and two great-grandchildren, Amyiah Wilson and P.J. Jeffries.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
