Wasniewski, Helen nee Dudek, 95, a resident of Winchester House, formerly of North Chicago, passed away December 30, 2014. Helen was born December 22, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of North Chicago. She married Gerald Wasniewski on September 1, 1941. She attended Holy Rosary Grade School and Waukegan High School, and was employed at John’s Store in North Chicago. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and then Queen of Peace and was a member of the Catholic Women Club.
Helen is survived by her 2 children, John (Sharon) Wasniewski of Cincinnati, OH and Margaret (Michael) Gruber of Portage, WI; 3 grandchildren Christopher (Tina) Gruber, Sarah and Daniel Wasniewski, 2 great grandchildren Oliver and Gabrielle Gruber, her sisters Lottie Haberski and Florence Prorok, and her brother Ed Dudek.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her parents John and Anne Dudek, her brother-in-laws Ed Haberski and John Prorok.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 9-10 am at Queen of Peace Church, 910 14th Street, North Chicago, IL with a funeral mass to follow at 10 am. Burial will be at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL.
