Michael was born on June 14, 1942 in Neodesha, KS, the son of Richard Louis and Corinne Leota (Schneider) Archibald. He grew up and attended school in the Wichita area until joining the United States Marine Corps. After being discharged from the Marine Corps, he traveled and lived all over the United States before settling down in Natoma in 2004. He was a very good handyman which allowed him to help other people when needed, he would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. He considered himself a naturalist and was driven to be an arm chair philosopher to educate others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith Archibald, Philip Lee Archibald and a sister, Janice Archibald Calhoun.
Michael is survived by his two daughters, Sara Renae Harrison and family of McKinney, TX and Rebecca Jean Johnson and family of Natoma, KS; two sisters, Tracy Archibald and Shanon Archibald both of Wichita, KS and 7 grandchildren.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Shotguns House, 816 Hachmeister Ave., Natoma, KS with a wake starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the house. Burial will take place in the Natoma Cemetery, Natoma, KS. Memorials may be given to the Michael L. Archibald Memorial Fund in care of the funeral chapel.
