Esther Pearl Stepp Adams, Mother fell asleep on December 21, 2014 at 12:16 a.m. with her family by her side. She was born in Delbarton, West Virginia to Elias Stepp and Maude Hatfield Stepp, where she lived most of her childhood. Growing up in Delbarton with her 13 siblings while attending their Daddy's church left a wonderful imprint on her life.

Her family moved to Piketon, Ohio when she was in her teens. She met her husband of 22 years in Rarden, Ohio.

Mom and Dad moved to Sandusky, Ohio in the early 1940's then moved to Huron, Ohio in the early 1950's. She had two children.

Mom loved people. She had a wonderful sense of humor till the morning she left. Many of our classmates came to visit over the years, a few never left. She was a Mom to everyone. She was adored and loved by everyone. She had a way of making us feel special and welcome. She was more than a Mom to me and my sister. She was our bridge over troubled waters. We always felt safe around her.

She would chase away our fears and wipe away our tears. When we were in the valley of life, she was there with her arms wide open, and when we were on the mountain top she was cheering us on. We knew we were loved and so did those she came in contact with throughout her life. We will see her someday but for now we are heartbroken. Mom was a gift. She belonged to us for only a short while. Mom was a giver. What she gave to her children and those who knew her is ever lasting. It's not what you take with you it's what you leave behind. She grew up in the Appalachian Mountains and those mountains have closed around her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Estella Maude Hatfield Stepp. By her father, Elias Stepp. Six sisters and Six brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonna (Dan) Troutman of Sandusky, Ohio. By her son Ed Adams of Marblehead, Ohio. Nine grandchildren, Dawn (Shawn) Fox of Berlin Heights, Ohio, Eric Barrett of Parma, Ohio, Kerri (Jason) Lohr of Concord, California, Elizabeth (Dave) Wittmer of Milan, Ohio, Jessica Fugitt of Huron, Ohio, Sarah Adams of Norwalk, Ohio, Amanda Hawkins of Sandusky, Ohio, Makenzie Adams of Huron, Ohio, Dylan Adams of Huron, Ohio. 14 great grandchildren. One great great grand daughter. Ernest M. Oliver Stepp of Sicily. Sally Griggs of Norwalk, Ohio.
There will be no calling hours or service. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
