Carl A. Andrews, 70, of Souderton, died Saturday, Sept. 2, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the husband of Laura A. (Hauptly-Dengler) Andrews. They were married 12 years last February.
He was a weld control supervisor for the E.G. Budd Company, Huntingdon Valley, Montgomery County, for 33 years before retiring in 1986.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Missouri and Susan (Schindler) Andrews.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where he was an usher and a member of the property committee.
He was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War, then entered the Army Reserves and served 32 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant with the 79th ARCOM Army Reserve Unit, Willow Grove, Montgomery County. He was a member and a post commander of American Legion Post 234, Souderton.
He was an assistant leader and past Cub Scout scoutmaster of Troop 11, Perkasie, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1539, Sellersville, and the Order of the Owl's Nest, Perkasie. He was a member of the Great Swamp Fish and Game Club, Quakertown, and a 10-year member of the Silverdale Fire Company.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Keith A. of Quakertown, Joel A. of Lynden, Va.; daughter, Karen N. of Micco, Fla.; brothers, Edgar of Walnutport, Harold of Slatington; sister, Daisy Frey of Ironton; step-sons, Gregory M. Dengler of Quakertown, Paul B. Dengler of C hapel Hill, Tenn.; step-daughters, Cynthia A. Joseph of Richlandtown, Karen L. Slifer of Telford, Christine M. Knechel of Souderton; five grandchildren, 20 stepgrandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
