FORMER PARIS BOY DIES IN A MARYLAND CAMP

Charles Parrott and wife received a message yesterday evening announcing that Edwin Curtis had died in the forenoon at Camp McHenry, Maryland. The message did not state the cause of his death. He had been in the regular army for five years and was with General Pershing's expedition to Mexico. He was born and reared in Paris, being the son of W. E. Curtis, who was connected with the Texas & Pacific railroad and the interlocking plant here about twenty-five years. Both of his parents are now in the Odd Fellows home at Corsicana.

His mother visited in Paris two weeks ago and at that time knew nothing of his being sick, from which it is inferred that he was ill only a short while. He is survived by a wife whom he married in Georgia last year. The remains will be brought for burial to Kilgore (Texas), where his mother was born and reared.

**Note--It must have been the decision of his wife to bury him here in Georgia where she was from.
