MRS. J.A. CHANCE DIES AT CENTRALIA
Mrs. John A. Chance, 89, died at 2 o'clock yesterday morning at St. Vincent Hospital in St. Louis, where she had been a patient for the past several weeks.
The former Miss Louise Adaline Sexton, she was born in Boone County, October 15, 1855, the daughter of the late Solomon and Sallie Ann Sexton. She spent her entire life in Boone County, and was the last member of a family of nine children. She was married to John A. Chance October 12, 1870, and had resided in Centralia for more than 60 years. Mr. Chance died at number of years ago.
She was survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. T. Fountain, Centralia; one son, A. B. Chance, Centralia; two grandchildren, Gano Chance of Centralia and Mrs. Gilmore Stone, St. Louis; and five great-grandchildren. ONe great-grandson, A.B. Chance III was with the U.S. Navy Air Corps, stationed at Moffett Field, Cal.
Burial in Centralia Cemetery, Centralia.
