Emma was born March 19, 1914, in Lee County, Illinois near Nachusa, the daughter of Emil and Susannah (Heinrich) Matzinger. She married Glenn Padgett on September 30, 1939, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1971. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by two sons, Emil (Margie) Padgett of Hurricane, UT, Keith (Cheryl) Padgett of Shawnee, KS; one daughter, Karen (Paul) Leppink of Grand Junction, CO; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by one son, Fred Padgett; four brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until time of service on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with the Rev. Tyler Gunderson, Bishop of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Sterling, IL. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.
