Pamela Ann Powell, 63, of Richmond, formerly of Danville passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. She was born February 28, 1951 in Boyle County to Stuart and Jo Ann Powell. Pamela taught French, Spanish, and English for 27 years in Anderson, Boyle, Model Laboratory School, and Rockcastle Counties. Pam was a giving person, always volunteering her time and helping others. She was a volunteer for the Richmond Area Arts Council, a volunteer and supporter of the Humane Society of Richmond, and active in the Ky Retired Teachers Association. After retiring from teaching, she was honored with the Who's Who Among American Teachers for her excellence in teaching. One of her favorite hobbies was to bake and turned her kitchen into a virtual bakery for many receptions held at Richmond Area Arts Council, Madison County Teachers Association, and at the First Christian Church, where she served on the hospitality committee . Pam loved her church, the First Christian Church of Richmond and was an integral part of their growth.
Along with her parents Stuart and Jo Ann, Pam is survived by a sister Patti Powell and her husband Vince DiMartino of Danville and a special cat, Trixie. Pallbearers will be Vince DiMartino, John Tyler, Gary Gibson, Joe Teague, Marshal Wilt, and Read Baierlein.
