WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Phyllis Jeanne S. Peterson, age 86, formerly of Monroe Township, Ohio, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the home of her daughter in West Springfield, Pa.
She was born May 20, 1928, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Kenton and Luceine (Puffer) Wheeler.
Jeanne married Edward S. Peterson on August 26, 1947, and she assisted him raising turkeys, chickens, geese, hogs, and beef cattle on their farm. She loved to shop and loved her dog, “Patty Cake.”
Survivors include her daughter, Robin (Barry) Cowher of West Springfield, Pa. and with whom she most recently made her home; two sons, Frank K. Peterson Sr. of Springboro, Pa. and Fred (Nancy) Peterson of Conneaut, Ohio; an adopted son, Darrell Peterson of Conneaut, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward S. Peterson on April 1, 2013; a daughter, Starr Krueger; two grandchildren, Eddie Krueger and Tammy Henderson; a foster son, Dennis Brothers; two brothers, Dwane R. Wheeler and Richard Wheeler; and a sister, Carlie.
Private graveside services were held in East Conneaut Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014.
