Mr. Frye was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Plainview. He married Peggy Lee Todd on Feb. 15, 1955, in Plainview.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Frye of Canyon and Tony Frye of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Joe Billy Frye, 80, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
He died Dec. 28 at the Garrison Center in Lubbock.
Joe Billy was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Plainview.
He married Peggy Lee Todd on Feb. 15, 1955, in Plainview.
He was preceded in death by his father Walter C. Frye, mother Eleanor Lynette Green Frye, and a sister Jeanne Gaither.
Joe Billy worked as a pressman at the Plainview Daily Herald for over 40 years. He enjoyed driving his tractor and traveling. He lived in Plainview all of his life.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Frye (Donna) of Canyon and Tony Frye (Belinda) of Lubbock; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Kay Chaney (Herbert) of Plainview
