She was predeceased in death by her husband, Bruce B. Kuyrkendall, of sixty years; her parents, three brothers, James, John and Charles; four sisters, Amelia Bacon, Johnnie Pearl McDaniel, Dorothy Ballew and Edith Bishop.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bill), sons: Stan and Bruce . She was a proud grandmother to Kelsey, Kirsten, Jennifer, Adam and Deborah, two great grandchildren Matthew and Amber and great grandchildren, Ilaryia and Ian Michael. Her sisters Louise Temple (Magnolia, MS) and Thelma Sigur (Roy) (Kenner, LA) also survive her. Many nieces and nephews are spread throughout the southeast and some beyond.
Mary was a war bride in the 40's, working briefly as a Rosie the Riveter building PBY's, and evolved into a devoted Navy wife and mother to her family. She strongly believed in living for the happiness of her family. She had a quiet Christian strength that she developed as a lifelong Methodist. She was a longstanding member of the Orange Park United Methodist Church for forty-five years.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to charities involving Christian beliefs to make this world a better place as Mary tried to do. We believe she is in heaven now looking over us with the Angels of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Arrangements are under care and direction of Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Blanding Blvd. Orange Park.
