Born: 1848 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania
The son of Jacob & Mary Workman, in 1860 he was a miner living in Wiconisco Township, Dauphin County. He stood 5' 9" tall and had auburn hair and gray eyes.
He enlisted and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg February 22, 1864, as a private with Co. G, 96th Pennsylvania Infantry, and killed in action at Spotsylvania.
