Cynthia was born February 9, 1949 in Independence, KS, to Robert and Anna Long. She graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1967 and attended Pittsburg State University, joining Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She started her retail career with Chasnoff’s. She was a buyer and did modeling as well. Cindy lived in De Moines, Iowa for 5 years working at Montgomery Wards, returning home to Overland Park in 1982 to raise her family. Her career spanned thirty five years of Retail Management with companies such as 7 – 11, Lowes and Kohl’s. She also worked with foster children for over 7 years and volunteered with organizations to help all children in need.
She is survived by her three wonderful children, Paul Ashley, Mattie Ann, and Hunter Andrew of Lenexa, KS, two grandchildren, Bailey Anne, and Caden Anthony Sparks, brother and sister-in-law Robert Paul and Mikell Long of Ft. Worth, Texas, and nephew, Paul Wyatt Long. As well as her favorite Aunt Edna Smith of Neodesha, KS, Bob and Marilyn Graham and Gary and Debbie Smith.
