Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, at the First Baptist Church in Taylor, AR.
Mr. Gordon was born on December 4, 1923 to Homer and Ruby Pearl Tompkins Gordon in Taylor, AR and passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at his home in Taylor. He was a native and lifelong resident of this area, was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy and was a retired employee of International Paper Company with 39 years of service. He was a Mason and member of the Huey Lodge #70 FandAM of Taylor, AR.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Joyce Taylor of Lowell, AR and a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Mary Ann and Jurd Weeks, Anthony Roggenbok and his First Baptist Church family.
Mr. Gordon is preceded in death by his wife, Novie Virginia Franks Gordon on March 3, 1997 and his parents; brothers, Marion Gordon, W. H. "Manny" Gordon; Noel Gordon and Eugene Gordon; sisters, Regina Burgan and Johnnie Glass.
Pallbearers will be Adam Camp, Ronnie Thomas, Rob Tompkins, Bill Orrick, Will McGee and Dalton Allison. Honorary pallbearers will be Laban Tompkins, Richard Thomas, Mike Crews, Jurd Weeks and Anthony Roggenbok.
