Myra Miller, 71, of Camden, North Carolina, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 P.M. on Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church of Paris with Dr. Burt Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, TX.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Tuesday at Bates-Cooper-Sloan funeral Home.
She was born in Waxahachie, TX, on Feb. 8, 1943, to L.D. "Dave" Hitt and Ola Mary Heine Hitt. She graduated in the class of 1961 from Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant. She attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Education. She taught school for 30 years and retired from North Lamar Independent School District (Paris, TX) in 2001. She married Carl D. Miller on Aug. 29, 1964, in Mount Pleasant. He preceded her in death in 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, her son and wife, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
