Clyde Colman May 3, 1928 - Dec. 25, 2014 BERRIEN SPRINGS - Clyde William Colman, 86, of Berrien Springs, died peacefully at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan on December 25, 2014. Clyde was born May 3, 1928, in Hartford, Michigan, to Frank and Frances Colman and was the last survivor of six siblings Robert, Jim, and Frank (Bud) Colman, Mabel Nelson, Joan Treat, and Margaret Martens. Clyde married Gail Clover on November 9, 1952 in Hartford, and they had three childrenRoger (Mara) Colman of Grand Rapids, Carol (Mark) Wiltse of Dublin, Ohio, and Robert (Nicki) Colman of Midland, Michigan. Clyde loved and was proud of seven beautiful grandchildrenRyan, Sara, Matthew, Jennifer, Caleb, Madeleine, and Katya; and five great-grandchildren. Clyde was proud to serve in the US Army from 1946-1947. He was the Director of Operations with the Benton Harbor Schools from 1961-1982. He retired from the Niles School District as Coordinator of Support Services in 1988 after six years. He was a member of the Berrien Center Bible Church and a life member of Masonic Lodge. An avid Michigan fan, he attended countless games and special events since the 1950s. Clyde baked over 90 pounds of fudge for family, friends and co-workers every Christmas. He had a love for the game of golf, and for a number of years, he enjoyed being a Marshal at the Memorial Golf Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. He will be remembered for his love of family, camping, taking photos at every special event, and his endless dry sense of humor. A memorial service will be at 12 noon Monday, December 29, at Berrien Center Bible Church, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Berrien Center Bible Church, or to the Berrien Springs Varsity Boys Baseball Club.
