Obituary:
Hope Elizabeth Martin – age 20 years of Hawthorne on Monday October 13, 2014. Beloved daughter of William Martin and Christina (nee: Flandera) Martin of Hawthorne, loving sister of Faith Anne Martin of Hawthorne, dear granddaughter of Richard and Georgiana Flandera of Hawthorne and William and Anne Martin of Whiting, dearest niece of Richard Flandera and his wife Laura of Ringwood and GeorgiAnn Bellafiore of Hawthorne. Hope is also survived by several cousins.
Born in Ridgewood, Hope has lived in Hawthorne her entire life. Hope was a 2012 graduate of Hawthorne High School and a junior at New Jersey Institute of Technology where she was on the Deans List. She was a member of the Hawthorne High School Band playing both the clarinet and oboe. She was awarded the John Philip Souza Award for the band. She was also a second degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do. Hope was a parishioner of St. Anthony's RC Church, Hawthorne where she was a Eucharistic Minister and had been involved in activities of the Youth Group.
Funeral will depart the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne 9 AM Friday for a 9:30 AM Mass at St. Anthony's RC Church, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at the Mary Rest Cemetery, Mahwah. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday between 5 PM and 9 PM. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005
