She was born in Jackson, January 30, 1870, a daughter of Marcellus and Laura Roberts Botkin, and lived her lifetime in the community. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ralph D. Metzger of Jackson, and one brother, H. C. Botkin of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Poore, in 1933. He was a grocery man in Jackson.
For many years, until well into the 1930's, Mrs. Poore was the Jackson correspondent for the Portsmouth Times.
The body remained at the Sperry Funeral Home where friends called Thursday. Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home 2:30 P. M. Friday with Rev. Ray Betts, Rector of St. cothe [sic], officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery.
