He was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Milford, the son of Harry and Lillian (Mower) Couse.
Glenn attended Milford Central School and was a lifelong resident of the Milford area. For a number of years he worked on area farms. Later, he was self-employed as a stone mason. He also worked in the construction industry.
He married Nadine (Richards) on July 24, 1954. Together they were the devoted parents of their five children. While Glenn loved to frequent garage sales and fish and hunt, his favorite activities were simply visiting and talking with others. He loved to meet and talk with everyone, whether they were a longtime friend or new acquaintance. He was a devoted and loving family man and cherished having his family around him.
He is survived by his daughter, Gwen White, and her husband, Dennis, of Laurens; four sons, Donald Couse of Milford Center, David Couse and his wife, Mary, of Unadilla, Dennis Couse of Oneonta, Dale Couse and Ruth of Milford; three grandchildren, David and Phil Couse of Richmond, Va., Shawn Callahan of Oneonta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nadine, in 2001; his three brothers, Earl, Clark and Ralph Couse, all of the Milford area; and his two sisters, Ruth Haynes of Oneonta and Edna Seeley of the Milford area.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home on Pioneer Street in Cooperstown.
Funeral services for Glenn will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Cooperstown with the Rev. Rob Kazinski, pastor of the Milford United Methodist Church, officiating.
Spring burial will be in the Milford Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that those who so desire, make memorial contributions to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 542 Main St., Oneonta, NY 13820, in Glenn’s memory.
