Born in New Ringgold, Dec. 9, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Salem and Alice Henry Schaffer.
She was the widow of George F. Reed Jr., who died Oct. 1, 1981.
She was a Tamaqua Area High School graduate and a homemaker.
She was a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg. She played piano there for Sunday school.
Beatrice was a lifelong member of New Ringgold Fire Company and spent many weekends cooking for banquets and weddings at the fire company. She was also a member of the Orwigsburg Senior Citizens, where she also played piano.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marie Reed Sporck and Carol Ann Reed; a son, David G. Reed; three sisters, Ida Fahringer, Ethel Kriner and Mildred Wallauer.
Surviving are a son, Ronald R. , husband of Lois Reed; a daughter, Caryn E., widow of Larry Reeser; granddaughters, Donna Reed Cullars, Diane Reed Ashworth, Carol Ann Sporck, Michelle Sporck and Stacie Reeser Glauda; two grandsons, Daniel Reed and Keith Reeser; four great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter.
Friends were invited to call until the time of a religious service at Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg. The Rev. Sunny L. Stock will officiate. Interment was in Schuylkill Memorial Park Inc., Schuylkill Haven
